Sallyport Tower

There's a lovely mix of stone, brick and tile, old and new in the Sallyport Tower. The Blue Plaque on the wall says....
"The Sallyport or Wall Knoll Tower, a lesser gateway, was built in the early 14th Century. The Company of Ships' Carpenters rebuilt the upper storey in 1716 as a meeting Hall" (which probably accounts for the patchwork effect and the carving of a ships hull above the door!)

Have a good weekend everyone!
