Kanuka flowers - food for the honey bees.

This is one of the last sprays of Kanuka flowers on a tree nearby (that was low enough to photograph). Our local bee keeper was here today, to tend to his bee hives that he keeps on our property. He is hoping that the Kanuka will keep flowering for another couple of weeks, but with rain forecast, the flowers might not last. He needs this to get his Manuka honey count high enough. (Manuka & Kanuka are both good for the honey)
We have a couple of big trees alongside our house, and as the flowers start to fall, we get the petals all over the floor of the house. (Yuk, more housework!)
When they are in full flower, the hills look as if they have had a dusting of snow.
