Hot stuff

As I am posting this weeks after the event, I can report that sewage spreading continued well into December here. There are lots of laws as to when & how indeed Bavaria and most of Germany going through a backlash from farmers who feel they are being treated as the bogeymen of all the environmental issues.

They aren't, but in these populist days, it is very easy to find someone else to blame. The farmer's need to realise we are all in this together and yes, we consumers need to realise there is a price to pay. However, I believe we need controls. Daily reports come in of animal rights and environmental crimes of a very disturbing nature.

And I am a farmer-friendly person! I just wish all would respect that they are only tenants of the land - the word "Landlord" as used in pubs is just as appropriate in farming. Farmers have a duty to look after the land and as well know they are, especially in the EU, the group which gets the most in subsidies from the taxpayers.
