World peace (Oleg Kirjuhin 1989)

Sometimes at the beginning of 80s Helsinki city fathers were visiting Moscow. I think , at a cheerful gathering (and a lot of vodka) with the hosts, the Russians wanted to donate a statue to the city of Helsinki. Our city fathers promised to Moscow a statue by finnish sculptor. The "Monument to the friendship of the peoples" was made by Antti Neuvonen, and a copy of it is in Helsinki (see blip 29.12).

Somehow both these statues are not in the very center of Helsinki.

We have the only Lenin museum in the world in Tampere.
