Silvery Pink

This is my Zephirine Drouhin rose at the front gate.  Normally an "in your face" cerise colour, the recent hot weather has bleached it to an altogether more appealing silvery pink.

The New Year's Eve is an appalling time for thousands upon thousands Australian impacted by the bush fires.  I've just been watching the news, and was reduced to tears.  We are perfectly safe, at the moment at any rate.  But so many Australians are not so lucky. 

My heart goes out to them.
