Up wind from Sunset Beach

Up wind from Sunset Beach

MCC & I have taken to pre breakfast wanders around Betalbatim. She has missed the odd wander due to general idleness and the suggestion that regularly going to bed towards midnight was catching up with her. Slothful in my opinion.

Chatting about nothing in particular is always a sign to me of joy and so these walks have proven.

General observations of things we happen across have included:

- Cattle singular out for a stroll
- Cattle in a gang out for a stroll
- Cattle actually with a human farmer type too!
- Dogs, lots and lots of very docile dogs
- the occasional bark
- zero felines
- Mucho cattle poo
- Several hundred mopeds
- The odd push bike
- The even odder car
- The occasional bus
- Houses in generally exceptionally bright colours
- A bright yellow church
- Many bright buses around the church doing bugger all
- Lots of pretty garlands in trees
- Chained up to the back door cattle
- Shops with chaps sat outside in various degrees of keenness to have us in the shop. Some really do not give a monkeys and all are very affable
- Shops that are set up under tarpaulins that look like they are ancient. Monsoon season must be interesting
- Telegraph poles
- A lack of Poles
- The odd Russian. I would add here that our East European pals are not the most chatty. The younger element are huge on selfies
- A large proportion of jewellery shops
- Also quite a few wooden furniture/ ornament shops. My dear Father-in-law declared in one the other day how excellent it was to have so much firewood to hand. Indeed so
- A lot of fires. More often than not burning rubbish
- Spectacular foliage
- Much dust
- Huge smiles

On that last point I think, truly, we have found here hearts of gold.
