HAPPY NEW YEAR BLIPPERS....

... had to chuckle this morning on a lot cooler day, the young Fairy wrens were out having fun, and decided to drop by to say hi for the New Year.
This little Blue wren came jumping onto the porch right up to the door, had a look around, then off they went to annoy the Blackbird as it took over the water bowl. Have a look at all the fun starting here on Flickr.

The devastation down South yesterday with the fires is just getting worse as the day has gone on. Now seven lives lost, and one person still missing. Some 180 homes so far decimated, and a couple of the Villages all but wiped out. 
Whilst the milder day has allowed some respite for everyone involved, the bad part is, the fires are still burning in inaccessible National Park areas and if Saturdays forecast comes to be, over 40 deg C, and with hi winds it could all go off again.

The RedCross here are running an appeal details here and I understand so far have raised over 2 million dollars.

Let's hope 2020 ends up being kinder to those affected than at present!
