EveryDay Ideas 1

Who owns a football club? A rich benefactor? A business person only interested in their own profit or self-aggrandisement?

Or - Should the local community of supporters, often spanning many generations, have a significant stake in the ethos, philosophy, direction, investment and culture of a club?

Make your own mind up about clubs like Newcastle United. Miasma and malaise infect this once proud football community.

The idea?  Develop some mechanism to enable significant share ownership for supporters in clubs with a proportional representation on the Board. A co-creation and fan co-operative could enable ownership to be shared with local communities. Why not try to overcome autocratic control and ownership purely for profit. Something has to change and this is also a bigger question for a more equal and fair society. Day One !
