A splash of light at Buttermere

We took an early walk round Buttermere before Andy turned up to help celebrate the new year. The water was calm and reflections were superb. I was amused to see a row of photographers standing by the Ash tree pointing their cameras at Haystacks waiting for the sunrise. In January, the sun doesn't really work there, because Haystacks stays in deep shade and the sun rises directly over - giving contrast problems I couldn't imagine!

Further round, the light was bright and lovely (see extra). In the evening, we popped into Keswick to see in the new year.

Happy New year Blippers.
