Goosander

There are always a few Goosanders in Perth through the winter. This is a male.

I find the males are a challenge to photograph because the cream feathers are so bright. I have adjusted this one in Lightroom as much as I dare, but I'm not totally happy with the result. I've reprocessed the picture with Perfect Effects. Better detail, but lost a bit of colour now. Sigh.

I'd like to blip one diving too, but my reaction time is too slow. All I can get is the feet and tail sticking out of the water.
