Grey skies and soft rain

Yay!  We had overnight soft rain which has continued most of the day - only about 6mm in total, but at least the garden has been watered!
The blobs you see in the sky are some of the hundreds of swallows that arrive every evening and fly around frantically - I've never seen this before - maybe there are lots of insects for them to catch. But why these huge flocks at the same time every evening? At one stage they settled on my neighbour's roof - it was completely covered.
If only heavy rain would fall in Australia - we have had a prayer chain going today praying for rain to fall.....
