Living the dream.....

.....for one day only in the mountains.

When I asked C if she would like to go to the mountains her eyes lit up and she wore a huge smile, 'yes please' she said. So the next day a picnic was packed and away we went bright and early.

We had a wonderful time exploring the lakes, walking round the rocks at Castle Hill, looking for Kea at the lookout points and fun at the quirky Otira pub. There were no Kea's to be found, Arthur's Pass Village was teaming with people but either side of the village was reasonably quiet. Hubby and I couldn't believe how high the high country lakes were, both lapping into the carparks. Both C and S were amazed by the landscape, it's all so different to living in Napier.

We had great weather, cool and refreshing with some sun, pleasant.

The lake above is Lake Pearson, just liked the tranquility of this scene. A couple of extras taken at Castle Hill, couldn't resist the wild rose.
