Speirs Wharf

I popped along to Spiers Wharf today to take some photographs.

During the 19th Century Speirs Wharf was at the hub of Glasgow's industrial revolution and included Grain Mills, a Sugar Refinery and warehouses. Part of the ongoing regeneration of the canal, they've been developed into flats and office space.

I love the late Georgian canal-side office building on the right hand side. This was originally the offices for the Forth & Clyde Navigation Co. The building was restored between 1989-90 after years of neglect.
