Junior plays a game 'Scythe' at school with his mates which sounds hugely complicated and apparently based on Risk invented in 1957 by Albert Lamorisse a French Film maker.
This the original Risk which is all about diplomacy, conflict and conquest.
Several games later my attempts at world domination have been woeful...out goes the diplomacy (cups of tea and feeding all the armies) and time to ramp up the conquest!
