MAYBE TOO LATE...

... to save the flowers!

Normally Agapanthus are one of the hardiest flower plants in a garden, but with our summer conditions these have really struggled, so the rain is just too late.

We had further shower/s today, but sadly no where near enough down South in the main fire area at present, and the forecast for later this week is still predicting further issues with hi temps and winds.

Not sure if you saw this little dove yesterday, but had not seen one around here before, so needed to ID? It is a Peaceful Dove, and if I was a betting man, I reckon the pair that were around the dam yesterday have found a new home coming from one of the fire areas.
Estimates by Birdlife Australia - quote -"As well as the terrible loss of life and property, experts estimate more than 500 million animals have been killed so far, including threatened species close to our hearts, such as Regent Honeyeaters, Eastern Bristlebirds and Glossy Black Cockatoos. Many of the surviving birds have lost breeding and feeding habitat and now face starvation."
So to any Aussies reading this, let's all make sure we at least have fresh water out for any birds and or animals around who maybe out of their natural habitat/area.
