Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Morning

Looking back down to the city centre, there was some early morning light peeping through the clouds as I arrived outside work.

I travelled through to Keighley after work to take in a Steeton game. They were hosting Chadderton, an Oldham team, in a rearranged North West Counties First Division North fixture.

Steeton have been finding their second season at this level tough going and are bottom of the table. Their form has improved of late, and this was mostly a fairly evenly balanced match. The visitors established a lead just before half time but Steeton found an equaliser with around ten minutes to go. Chaderton replied with two more in as many minutes and added a penalty in the dying seconds. It finished 1-4 which was harsh on this young Steeton side.
