WWT London: Robin Hoverin'

Tenderer in large.
Back blip
Extras:
Robin hoverin' (downbeat)
Fulvous tree ducks: Framed by foliage & Strong stance
Swan chaperonin' sneakin' nēnē
Obligatory emperors: Preening plumage & Snoozy portrait

I went to WWT in the early afternoon, and kept the macro mounted even though it was dark and gloomy. It left me taking different sorts of shots (and getting even closer to the emperors...).
My favourite moments were getting close to the sweet fulvous tree ducks (which are whistling ducks, so super squeaky), the nēnē pacing up and down on the wall of the Bewick's swans pen, and this robin taking food from a keeper's hand... Oh, and getting close to the adorable emperors of course.
The robin was actually hovering by the keeper's hand here: it was very tentative, and only grabbed a seed on two of its four visits... Extra and main blip are the up- and down-stroke, with motion in the wings and body, but the eye fixed in space.

Others here (or right from Nēnē calling)
