A fabulous documentary currently on BBCiplayer and BBC FOUR - Hokusai: Old Man Crazy to Paint - it sounds like it could be dull but it wasn't at all, it was fascinating, he was fascinating. He printed "The Great Wave" without the aid of a camera that could catch the spray yet he drew it, yes stylised, but it's much nearer the truth of nature than I had appreciated until today, as I scroll through some shots, and see his wave in some of them.
