Promise of things to come …

Tiny mussel ‘babies’ growing on driftwood.
Does anyone know the correct name for them? They’re really tiny, no more than 0.5cm. There were lots sprinkled over pieces of driftwood. I’d not seen them before. I’m assuming they’re mussels, as mussels are prolific on the rocks around here.
