Went to Canterbury to return some online purchases, and thought I'd pop to Debenham as they are closing next weekend and I thought I'd see if there were any bedding bargains (there weren't).

Noticed this plaque above the doorway - I've been in and out of this building several times over the years and have never noticed it before! Not only that but I didn't know a theatre used to stand on the site. You know what they say - look up!

Imagine being there that night to hear Charles Dickens reading this. That must have been a night!

It's otherwise been a quiet day. Going to try a Nigel Slater soup later!
