COIL POTS

Bit of a desperation blip, this. Spent the whole afternoon fighting through multiple menus trying to try & prevent my camera from taking mini-videos & recording them in the MP4 format. Grrrrrr….

Love my camera dearly, but it has far too many wee buttons which clumsy old fingers tend to press by accident. A decent dose of old Merchant Navy language seems to have done the trick.

Made these pots about 18 years ago - they're built up with coils of moist clay & allowed to dry very gradually. Then they were beaten & scraped inti shape & mildly sculpted.

The extra gives you my mother's "Winter Plate", painted on porcelain. Some of you may have seen this before - like a "coil pot" - "what goes around comes around"... Who said that?
