Method 4 - The Vacuum Trap
By removing the business end of the hoover and attaching the extension tube, you have a makeshift Ghostbusters style 'Trap'. Switch on the hoover for a brilliantly amusing game of suck the mosquito. They are powerless to avoid the charms of the hoover anything up to 15cm away. For extra entertainment and challenge, they must be sucked mid-flight (as opposed to when they're minding their own business on the wall).

Larissa had to practically beg me to let her have a go.

Method 5 - Fist of Fury
Tricky to execute, but probably the most rewarding mosquito killing experience when performed successfully. This method involves 'catching' the mosquito using only one hand and with enough force to kill it. You need fast reflexes for this and so far I have only managed it once.


This blip is of a failed attempt at the 'Fist of Fury'. I did however seem to do enough damage to render it flightless and therefore leaving it at my mercy, hence the macro. (I must say, that despite the autofocus not working, I'm loving this lens and may put an offer in soon).
