Ruffled feathers

In the early afternoon the sun came out and we weren't alone in having the idea of a stroll around the village and ending up in Linton Kitchen.

On the way we stopped to admire the Mandarin ducks that I'd heard were at the ford and were every bit as beautiful as I'd thought they would be.  I hadn't realised there were so many of them - and that there would be young ducks too, I reckon more than a dozen in all.

In the end I chose a picture that showed a rather dishevelled duck having a shake.  There is a more conventional picture in extras.
