Culture Fix

A day in Edinburgh touring exhibitions.  Firstly, the Portrait Gallery and a photographic exhibition from the Mackinnon collection of photos of Scottish life.  It is wonderful piece of social history and very well presented; will bring back memories for many.  Then onto the BP Portait Award exhibition with its usual variety - some stunning, some joyful, some left me cold.  And finally to the SSA/VAS exhibition at the RSA Gallery.  My favourite room was the 'weaving' room with woven paper used to build some structures (blipped).  Otherwise, there was not much to detain me there.
