Hell Gate Bridge, New York

This railroad bridge was built in 1915 to connect New York and the Pennsylvania Railroad with New England and the New Haven Railroad.

It was designed by Gustav Lindenthal and was the world's longest steel arch bridge until 1931. The bridge originally carried four tracks - two passenger and two freight, which were electrified with the NH-PRR standard 11 kV 25 Hz overhead
