Lichen on Rowan Tree

It was thought that a Rowan Tree could guard against "evil entities" and many are to be found in cemeteries or churchyards.

This is our Rowan which is host to many types of Lichen. Apparently they are unlikely to harm the tree, and our specimen is in good condition.

The cemetery for our church house building is over a mile away for the first and ancient one, and just over a half a mile away for the more modern one.

There are three pet rabbits buried in our garden and they cause no spiritual disturbance.

On a mildly weird point of view, when we were working on the building, we did discover a mummified hare placed underneath the place where the communion table was located.

The original Georgian builders had an interesting sense of humour ? Perhaps.

I like the very out of focus trees in the background.
