Frozen lake

Lake Silvaplana, the last of the Upper Engadin lakes to freeze, looked spectacular in its icy splendour. We went to Sils and, discovering that we could cross-country ski beside the lake as the tracks are normally across the lake, we headed off to Silvaplana. It was so special an afternoon I wanted to bottle it up as a memory and keep it forever.
Later we headed into the village to hear our local Irish band playing and singing. Brilliant they were too.
