White Faced Heron

The heron was finally back on the beach today, but just keep at a steady pace in front of me. Managed to get a bit closer but this was a more interesting photo, as it appears to be eating something.
The funny colour of the water was reflected from the sky which was a very strange colour this morning.
Five or six Blackbacked gulls also on the beach, but they flew off as soon as I started approaching them, and only one lone Oyster Catcher.
The birds seem to disappear on the hotter days, and come back when it is a bit cooler and stormy.
It's scientific name is "Ardea novaehollandiae novaehollandiae" taken from the Reader's Digest "Complete Book of New Zealand Birds." Can anyone please explain way the last name is repeated twice?
