…………………Caterpillar



The monarch caterpillars, and the butterflies, are precious and scarce these days after a dramatic increase in the paper wasp population - the wasps feed on live prey and love the eggs and caterpillars of the monarch butterfly.

This caterpillar is only one of three I have found and have in protective custody - compared to previous years when there were multitudes growing and morphing into magnificent butterflies.



Thank you for the many lovely comments for the portraits of my grandchildren featured in yesterday’s blip. The stars and hearts are very much appreciated too. The morning light filtering through a south facing window provided the lovely lighting.
