Silvery Morning

Another Encounter Bay view. Love the light on mornings like this. The birds are Pacific Gulls. They were chatting as I came up to them. "oh oh oh" "oh oh oh" "oh oh oh". Taking it in turns to say "oh oh oh".

I like these birds. They crack open cockle shells by dropping them from on high. I had one dropped on my car once while driving along the foreshore and nearly jumped out of my skin. Looked in the rear vision mirror and there was one landing on the road behind me to see if the shell had cracked.

Wright Island is behind them and Seal Rock off to the left. Seal Rock has a small colony of New Zealand Fur Seals in residence.
