Jet engine

We arrived home 14 hours after leaving our chalet at 4 am. This is one of the pair of jet engines that brought us from Grenoble to Manchester, eventually. (Delays due to fog apparently.) Immigration is all ready for Brexit with signs for who goes where - but not yet, much to the annoyance of some US citizens who’d got in the right queue according to the sign. The 4 hour drive home from Manchester was busy but at least we got most of it done in daylight.

The washing is on and to-do lists are being made.

Apparently when the queen was crowned in 1953 a third of the population believed that she’d be anointed by god to reign over us. That puzzles me muchly and so does the fact that the press seem to be making far more fuss and people are more exercised about Harry and Meghan than they were about Andrew’s sordid practices. Post holiday grumping, I know, I know.
