Thanks for the kind comments for the Friday blip.

It seems like this has been the first decent day in ages. Mrs SJR had a 5k run on a loop at Leanachan. I set off with Archie and Caley from a different point with anticipation of meeting Mrs SJR when she had reached 5km. That worked out bang on as it happened, and we resumed back to the car in one group, walking.
Early PM I was thinking how good it would be to get up BH. Just Caley and I for this one, we were at the top about 4pm. On the ascent I met a woman descending carefully with walking poles. She's a local lady and oddly, the only other time we have spoken was on top of BH.
The reason for her careful  descent was that she was still building up strength following a hip replacement eight weeks ago. Bizarrely she can still not manage the stairs at home but can negotiate these slopes fine and is really feeling the benefit. She has been gradually increasing her ascents on successive visits and today she had been to the top. I admire her mental strength and determination.
Caley and I got to the top and as is often the case, it felt like a different world. There was a savage and icy wind which numbed the hands and flattened camera batteries. The evening sky hues changed by the second and the surrounding mountains continued to gleam.

The temperature seemed to rise as soon as we started the return walk and by the time we were back at the car it was a balmy plus 1 deg c.
