A day on Blencathra

We had planned to climb Helvellyn today, but the Met office summit forecast showed heavy cloud on Helvellyn, and some clear spells on Blencathra. We went up a simple route, (no ridges!) as the wind was really strong. The temperature on the top was about -12 degrees, so pretty cold.

As we climbed, we walked into cloud, but had some amazing moments of it clearing. I took almost 200 photos, and simply couldn't decide. Three are shown here - please do look at them all. There may still be better ones, but I thought these were pretty good.

One of the best mountain days I've ever had.
