From The Depths

Exploring along the edge of the lake shore, I came across ice bubbles, presumably created by decaying vegetation. I liked the unusual white shapes contrasting against black. It's a dark image that stokes the imagination, not knowing what lurks beneath the surface.

I managed to bring out some texture in the ice which always seems difficult when trying to keep its brilliance. The reeds add a bit of colour in the frame, but also add to the enclosed, trapped feeling with their criss-cross pattern.
