Well the snow eventually turned up last night. That knocked this morning's cycle on the head which was just as well as I'd forgotten to clean the chain after its last outing and it had turned into a rigid bit of rust. New one ordered.

Went for a run instead, Was going ok until I stepped onto a slab of ice with a covering of snow. Went down on my elbow. Got up. Went down again. I would've laughed if it hadn't been so painful.
