Fox Hunting

Last night all the white stuff had gone but overnight we had an almost decent dusting which will stay around for the week as the maximum daytime temperature isn't due to get above 0°C.

Luna loves snow as it seems to make the "smelling" part of the walk more fun. As we got to the hut in the background and swung left up a brow, I noticed her getting excited and simply said "Fox". She shot off over the brow & out of sight. 0 seconds later a fox nearly crashed into me as it made its escape & dashed off to the forest in the far distance.

Sadly I was too slow getting the camera out from inside my jacket to film it.

There is no chance of her ever catching a fox but good that she lets them know she is about. Probably it was this fox which took two of our hens before Christmas. Last week we lost another one but to a bird of prey.

Snow is welcome but the breeze this evening wasn't as it was giving a wind chill feel temperature of -6°C.
