Mirror mirror on the floor

 Oh my goodness, an absolutely horrendous night with Nate last night - he cried and screamed his way through the night...I think he had trapped wind, poor boy. Danny and I woke feeling pretty grotty...we also woke to no electricity in the kitchen area nor hot water as it had been knocked out by the huge storm (now evening time and still no electricity or hot water).
The morning was spent in Nude sheltering from the weather, reading 'Sacred Rhythms' by Ruth Haley Barton. Loved this quote... Prayer is like love. Words pour at first. Then we are more silent and can communicate in monosyllables. In difficulties a gesture is enough, a word, or nothing at all - love is enough. Thus the time comes when words are superfluous... The soul converses with God with a single loving glance, although this may often be accompanied by dryness and suffering.
Later morning I went for a wander and pray, and photograph - loved all the post rain reflections everywhere...Then later still a quick coffee with Camilla and Rich. Nude is so often like the Cheers cafe, where everybody knows your name, ha!
This afternoon I hung out with a friend...she's attempting to come off heroin for the 8th time!! What a trooper - how incredible that she keeps going!! She's doing well this time - she's usually homeless but is currently staying in a hostel. She'll be back on the streets soon, that'll make getting clean a tougher challenge. Danny brought the kids to us as he was off to prison - Asha and Nate totally love her. Asha was pleased as she was wearing a pair of earrings she'd made her for christmas.

Today I'm grateful for;
1) Beautiful reflections everywhere post rain.
2) Camilla.
3) S's perseverance - inspiring.
