All aboard the San Diego Zoo railway

We travelled to the well renowned Balboa Park in San Diego. We’ve been there a few times on our trips over here. It’s a collection of museums, San Diego Zoo, gardens and other attractions set in buildings which were erected in the early decades of the 20c as part of various expositions.

When we planned the day we didn’t think the Model Railway displays would be open as they are closed Mondays. However, this being Martin Luther King Day, and a holiday in the USA the museum was open. And what a fantastic set of displays there were. Landon couldn’t contain himself rushing from layout to layout and back again.

The displays were huge, complex, detailed and extremely realistic and in many different scales. I’ve included a couple in extras for the model railway enthusiast blippers.

The day was rounded off by a ride on the San Diego Zoo miniature railway which Landon lived too.

He’s back at daycare tomorrow as his dad is working and is travelling to San Francisco from Los Angeles on Wednesday so we’re travelling up there together.
