Bay of Plenty.

We drove over the hills to the coast near Mount Maunganui. Weather started out grey but brightened up towards lunchtime. Lunch was two spectacular salads in a very unpromising beach cafe. We read books and had a paddle as well as taking a few pictures.
Drove back via an alternative route which took in the Okere Falls. Planned to get a take away pie for tea. New Zealander’s are big on pies. The shop had sold out so instead we ended up eating fish and chips looking at the lake. We shall have to save ourselves for pie.
Tonight we have the hotel to ourselves. I feel like we should throw a party!
