Auckland

A "hop on hop off" bus seemed the best way to see this sprawling city in one day. After a drive to Bastion Point we enjoyed the Auckland Museum catching up on early history, the Maori people and their struggle for justice, volcanos and natural history. Then a walk to the top of an extinct volcano Mount Eden and breath taking views of the islands bays and mountains in every direction. In the evening a quick ferry took us across the bay to Devonport and delicious fresh snapper and chips.
