Braan waterfall

For our Tuesday walk, we followed the Braan up from The Hermitage. We are very familiar with the falls under Rumbling Bridge but we have hardly taken notice of the smaller waterfall just upstream. This time it looked lovely, perhaps because of the extra water or because it was catching the sun. It was also delightfully warm there for January and it made a great spot for lunch. I reflected that in Scotland on a winter weekday we could have somewhere as good as this to ourselves.

After one brief sighting of a dipper, we were rewarded by another one singing for a few minutes below Inver Bridge.
