Eynhallow

Rather a straighforward image but I like the light. The island of Eynhallow, in the Sound of Eynhallow has a lot of myth attached to it. The selkies- the seal people- were supposed to live there among other supernatural beings, and the island was invisible to humans.

I walked along the shore and saw a merlin fly onto a post. It was close and when I tried to reach for a camera- it took off. Plenty of ringed plover, purple sandpipers etc and a single juvenile kittiwake.
