Live And Learn

A  great day at the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake Museum today. I've done this trip six times now and today's visit was the best ever, especially in terms of timing. We had plenty of time to browse all the exhibits in the museum and most of the children answered every question on the worksheet I had prepared. It was also the first visit where we had time to watch this lecture about building safety measures which protect against the effects of liquefaction and ground tremors. Many of the guides and presenters at this museum are volunteers, like this man who, it turned out, is a good friend of a man who used to teach at our school. They worked together on translating books into braille. The teacher was blind.
