Minus flowers

We left Arnison in early morning sunshine and travelled most of the day, not that travelling is much of a problem when there is so little on the roads most of the time. We were mainly on what is known as the Garden Route, because of the verdant vegetation and flowering plants that line the roads. If we were here in their Spring or early summer we would see lots of colours other than green, but then we would not be escaping  the worst of the British winter. So it is now late summer here and everything is green. And it is green. Last time we were here, two years ago, there was a severe drought and everything was brown. Recently they have had lots of rain and things are very different.

We are now in Plettenberg Bay, possibly our favourite place, and we are settled in a 'garden suite' of a large house owned by a delightful couple who greet us so warmly, as old friends. Well we have been coming here for a long time. We are not the only ones who return year after year and it is not surprising as the rooms are perfect, so comfortable and everything thought of. We are here for a few days, so time to relax and visit old haunts, including the beautiful beach just  a few minutes up the road. And to enjoy the sunshine.
