RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch

That weekend has arrived when the RSPB  get us all to sit staring out of the window for an hour to see what birdies arrive in the garden - and it's normally the weekend that all the local birdies decide to play hide and seek and I often end up spotting just one or two, despite the garden being full during the week!

But thankfully the garden has been a hive of activity on the bird front so I've had lots to spot, and lots of food to keep putting out! Lots of blackbirds about, including this female, and also robins, sparrows, jays, jackdaws, collared doves, wood pigeons, wren, dunnocks, starlings and a squillion blue tits!

i had hoped to do a few gardening jobs out there today but the essex clay soil we have is a little too muddy still so have had to change my plans! Watching the cricket now  - Eng v SA - with a lovely cup of hot chocolate and that seems a civilised way to spend a grey afternoon!
