Inverculain 1.0?

A year or so back, following up a set of historical clues, friends from the heritage group and I re-discovered the remains of a wall which may have been part of the 13th (or possibly 12th century) predecessor of our house.

This afternoon, Steve, Pete and I finally got around to a more detailed exploration of the wall. We've exposed parts of it along most of the the remaining length, and cleared the full surviving width for two sections with the "back" of both aligning nicely so we've probably tied down one edge of the wall.

We'll be back to clear the whole wall soon, and also to investigate another nearby piece of ancient masonry which we initially thought was part of the same wall. It now looks like it might be another part of the building, or even an adjacent structure.

Fascinating stuff!
