Niall Hanna

Another nice day in Dublin and at TRADFEST.  A morning stroll through St Stephens Green brought us to the Irish Film Institute and a viewing of “A Song for Ireland”, documenting the relationship of music the history of the island.  Next was an afternoon at the Palace, a Temple Bar pub to enjoy Niall Hanna and his friend Eva McGarry, quite a nice set.  At the pub, we enjoyed the company of some Canadians who had just finished work in Paris and came to Dublin to wind down.  A second band necessitated us staying at the Palace the rest of the afternoon.  A seasoned group even played a tune about North Carolina to keep us there a wee bit longer.   More brown liquid.

After dinner, we enjoyed the TREADFEST Gala, with 3 groups - “Lau” from Scotland, “Shndrum”, an award winning cieli band from Cork, and “Cherish the Ladies”, now in its 35th year.
