The pleasure of books.

It’s suppertime already.
We had our monthly community church breakfast this morning, when smaller groups meet in various venues.
Our particular one met in someone’s home. About a dozen of us this time.
We shared bacon baps, sausages for anyone who preferred them, croissants, dairy free spread, fruit, jams, and tea, (speciality or otherwise), coffee and juices.
The weather had turned out to be very wet by lunchtime, so no walk in the afternoon.
Watched some catchup tv and read my book. Early dinner at 6.00pm.
A downloaded episode of Grantchester followed. (Not convinced it’s as good as the first series)
I eventually realised I had not taken a photo for blip.
During our dinner last night with friends, which was very pleasurable, we discussed the books we had read or were reading. (One of them is a head librarian and obviously immersed in the vast world of literature of all kinds for the very young to the elderly)
The books in the photo ended up on our table after we were having a cuppa having finished our meal. They are either Christmas gifts or our own purchases, some of which have been read or are in the process of being read.
It was a lovely evening.
Excuse the lack of comments lately. Thankyou for yours. I’ll catch up soon!
This coming week looks like a busy one!
