River View

A view of The River Usk taken from St Julians Inn, Caerleon Road, Newport, South Wales, UK.

Between 75-300AD this stretch of the River Usk was extremely busy as it was the river entrance quay(the bend near middle of the photo) to The Roman garrison (Isca Silurium) now known as Caerleon. the home of the Second Augustan Legion and one of the main Roman occupations in Britain.
