The Edge of the Wold

Mirror, mirror...

...on the water
Who is the fairest of them all?

Another happy hour or two at Leighton Moss watching the antics of the coots again.  This one really did look like it was admiring its reflection. Not long before this, a mute swan went out of her way to knock the coot off its perch - coots generally punch above their weight, but this one met more than its match.

Mondays mornings I do my support crew work for Wifie's class. There are benefits to being a Qi Gong roadie - I get to join the class. I'm always amazed how such apparently gentle exercise can make one feel so full of life and energy afterwards.  Watching the coots, listening to the teals bleeping, seeing the marsh harriers floating overhead..... it all helps to prolong that feeling of well being. It was getting cold and needing a warming cup of tea that made me break away in the end.

Roast vegetables and veggie Yorkshires and gravy for dinner. A perfect end to a perfect day. Though not quite an end, Gus is waiting for his walkies in the dark woods.
